Jo and I had spent the morning hiking some very popular hikes in Sedona. After taking a little nap in the car, we had time to do another before we drove back to Flagstaff where we were staying. Bear Mountain was nearby and figured we could hike and cross a peak off the list.
It was a good time of year to do it. It would have been super hot. The hike was pretty exposed and uneventful. The biggest bummer was that you don’t actually summit the peak from the trail and Jo wasn’t feeling like bush whacking the rest of the way to the true peak, so we bagged the “False Peak”. It was still a 2000ft climb, but only had like 50ft of prominence over the true peak.
We hiked down as the sun was setting and got a few niceish photos. Overall the hike was meh. Nothing too great.
