What a stunning peak! Ice lakes has been on Jo’s list for a while. We tried to do it one year but the trail was covered in snow still.

We took the weekend to backpack up to the lakes and while we were up there we snagged this peak. Backpacking this high up is always hard, but it was fun. We got up to the lake around sunset, ate some dinner, flew the drone and setup camp.

The next morning we hiked to the other side of the lake then straight up the steep gully to the saddle. The last scramble involved some pretty sketchy low class 5 climbing. We were alone at the top and flew the drone again.

Once we got down we packed up camp and hiked over to the other lake before hiking the rest of the way down.
